On Friday, April 16, 2010, Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Moscow Patriarchate traveled to the Moscow Theological Academy located within the walls of the Holy Trinity-St Sergius Lavra where he met with Archbishop EVGENY of Vereia and Rector of the Moscow Theological Seminary and Academy.
During the course of the visit, Archimandrite Zacchaeus presented the Archbishop EVGENY with English language theological books from St Vladimir Seminary Press which were designated gifts from the St Vladimir Orthodox Theological Seminary in New York to the Moscow Theological Academy in Sergiev Posad. Due to a delay in the international postal system, the books were unable to arrive in time to be presented to the Moscow Theological Academy by the Dean and Chancellor of St Vladimir Orthodox Theological Seminary when they visited in January of this year.
In receiving the gifts, Archbishop EVGENY asked Father Zacchaeus to convey the thanks of the Moscow Theological Academy to the Administration of St Vladimir Orthodox Theological Seminary for their generosity and willingness to work together in areas of Orthodox Theological Education.
Among the books presented were works by well known theologians of the Orthodox Church in America such as Protopresbyters Alexander Schmemann and John Meyendorff, among others
