News | 27-04-10 Evening held in honor of the Ever-Memorable Bishop Basil (Rodzianko) at the Moscow Theological Academy

On Monday evening, April 26, 2010, Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Representative of the Orthodox Church in America participated in an evening of lectures, talks and films held in memory of the ever-memorable Bishop Basil (Rodzianko), who fell asleep in the Lord as a retired hierarch of the Orthodox Church in America.

During the course of the evening which was led by Archimandrite Tikhon (Shevkounov) the Abbot of Moscow’s Sretensky Monastery and close friend of the late hierarch, Archimandrite Zacchaeus offered words to the participants on his experiences with Bishop Basil. A very special addition to the lectures and talks offered was a pre-recorded video greeting by His Beatitude, Metropolitan JONAH of All America and Canada who spoke about his relationship with Bishop Basil and the strong influence the ever-memorable hierarch had on His Beatitude’s monastic and priestly formation.

Accompanying Father Zacchaeus to this event were nearly 30 parishioners from St Catherine the Great Martyr Church – the Moscow Representation of the Orthodox Church in America. More information about the ever-memorable Bishop Basil (Rodzianko) can be found at: http://www.rodzianko.org/.
