News | 22-05-08 Exhibition of Icons “The Divinity of the Beautiful”

On Thursday, May 22, 2008, Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Moscow participated in the Grand Opening of the Exhibition of Icons painted by Mrs. Irina Marcelo Curto, the wife of the Ambassador of Portugal in Russia, entitled “The Divinity of the Beautiful” at the Cultural Center “Spiritual Library.”

Also in attendance at the opening ceremony was Cardinal Walter Kasper, the President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity who is in Russian on an unofficial visit; Bishop MARK of Egorev, representing the Moscow Patriarchate; Bishop NIPHON of Phillipopolsk, Representative of the Patriarchate of Antioch to the Moscow Patriarchate; Cardinal Antonio Mennini, the Papal Nuncio in Russia; and numerous Ambassadors of various nations.

The exhibition will be open for visitors May 22 through May 27, 2008.
