The paintings range in theme from dark images of tragedy and despair to sketches of bright hope. The young artists painted these works while undergoing close therapy by psychologists. Therefore these very moving works of art also aided the children in working through the grieving process.
Currently, discussions are being held between representatives of St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church and the psychologists who worked closely with the children while painting these works, and also members of the Lion’s Club, who sponsored this event, to work together to allow these works of art to be displayed at St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church.
The Representation of the Orthodox Church in America aided in distributing humanitarian aid to the children who suffered in Beslan (see click here.
