News | 24-05-05 Feast of Ss. Cyril and Methodius celebrated at the Dormition Cathedral in Moscow’s Kremlin

On Tuesday, May 24, Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Moscow Patriarchate concelebrated the festal Divine Liturgy for the feast of the Holy Equal to the Apostles Cyril and Methodius with His Holiness, Patriarch ALEKSY of Moscow and All Russia at the historic Dormition Cathedral in Moscow’s Kremlin. Following the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy, His Holiness, along with the concelebrating hierarchs and clergy processed to Slavonic Square, where a moleben was served before the monument to Ss. Cyril and Methodius.

Concelebrating the Divine Liturgy with Patriarch ALEKSY were Metropolitan KLIMENT of Kaluga and Chancellor of the Russian Orthodox Church, Archbishop ARSENY of Istra, Bishops NIFON (Antiochian Patriarchate), DAMASKIN (Church of Greece), SAVA of Krasnogorsk, ALEKSANDR of Dmitrov, SERAPHIM of Belotserkov, FEOGNOST of Sergiev-Posad, VENIAMIN of Luberets, and NIKON, and the Representatives of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Serbian Orthodox Church and Bulgarian Orthodox Church. In attendance at the Liturgy and also participating in the procession to Slavonic Square was the Plenipotentiary and Representative of the President of the Russian Federation to the Central Region, Mr. Georgy S. Poltavchenko.
