Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Dean of St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church, by invitation of His Eminence, the Most Reverend Archbishop Victor of Tver, celebrated the feast of the Holy Apostle Thaddeus in Tver's Holy Ascension Cathedral. This holiday has unique significance for the faithful of Tver in that it is the feast of the patron saint of the holy Hieromartyr Thaddeus of Tver. Saint Thaddeus was a great theologian of the Russian Orthodox Church at the turn of the century and served as Archbishop of Tver until his martyrdom by the godless Bolsheviks after the tragic Revolution of 1917.
Archimandrite Zacchaeus was met at the border of Tver by Archpriest Nikolai Vasechko and his son, Priest Valentine who led an excursion to the various parish churches of the city. Following the excursion, the clergy joined His Eminence, Archbishop Victor for the festal All-night Vigil. During the vigil, His Eminence blessed Archimandrite Zacchaeus to lead the litia during the vespers portion of the service.
Following the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence presented Father Zacchaeus with an icon of the holy Hieromartyr Thaddeus containing a particle of his holy relics.
