News | 03-11-04 Feast of the Kazan Icon of the Theotokos celebrated at Epiphany Cathedral

On Wednesday, 3 November, the eve of the Feast of the Wonderworking Kazan Icon of the Theotokos, Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Dean of St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church concelebrated the All Night Vigil at Moscow's Epiphany Cathedral. Archimandrite Zacchaeus was invited to this service by the cathedral's dean, Protopresbyter Matthew Stadniuk, a good friend of the Orthodox Church in America, and someone who served parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church in North America for several years in the 1960's.

His Holiness, Patriarch ALEKSY celebrated the Vigil along with Archbishop Arseny of Istra, Bishop Nifon of the Antiochian Patriarchate, Bishop Sava of Krasnogorsk, Bishop Alexander of Baku, Bishop Alexander of Dmitrov, and Bishop Mark of Egorevsk.

During the course of the Vigil, Archimandrite Zacchaeus had the opportunity to discuss plans for the upcoming celebration of the 10th Anniversary of St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church as the Representation of the Orthodox Church in America in Moscow with His Holiness, Patriarch ALEKSY. The Patriarch confirmed that he will indeed celebrate the Divine Liturgy for the feast of St. Catherine the Great Martyr on December 7 along with His Beatitude, the Most Blessed HERMAN, Primate of the Orthodox Church in America.
