| 17-04-08 Feeding the Homeless of Moscow during Great Lent
On April 17, 2008, the last Thursday of Great Lent, Mr. Namerud Negash, Humanitarian Aid Coordinator of St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church, together with volunteers from the parish and the International Women’s Club of Moscow prepared warm meals to be distributed to the homeless of Moscow.
That same day, Mr. Negash hoped to feed up to 100 people in need throughout the city, but primarily the homeless who gather at the Kursk train station. For reasons out of Mr. Negash’s control, the parish’s feeding the homeless program during Great Lent this year was sporadic, but promises to become more consistent immediately after Pascha, when more volunteers will be able to assist in this labor of love.
