On Monday, November 19, 2007, Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Moscow Patriarchate participated in a festal concert at Christ the Savior’s hall for Church Councils held in honor of the 90 th Anniversary of the reinstatement of the Patriarchate in Russia.
In addition to His Holiness, Patriarch ALEKSY II of Moscow and All Russia together with hierarchs and clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church, also in attendance at the concert were the First Deputy of the Head of the Russian Government, Dmitry A. Medvedev; the official Representative of the President of Russian in the Central Administrative Region, Mr. Georgy S. Poltavchenko; the Minister of Culture of Russia, Mr. Alexander S. Sokolov; and other officials of the Russian Government.
The concert was opened with a speech by His Holiness, Patriarch ALEKSY who spoke about the role of the Patriarchate throughout the history of Russia. Following the concert, a reception was held for all the guests in the cathedral’s main dining hall.
