On Tuesday evening, May 6, 2008, Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Moscow Patriarchate joined numerous other guests is bidding outgoing US Ambassador to Russia, Mr. William J. Burns farewell at his Moscow Residence, “Spaso House.”
Among the other guests in attendance were: the Deputy Prime Minister, and Russian Minister of Finance, Alexei L. Kudrin; the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Mr. Sergei V. Lavrov; the Minister of Industry and Energy of Russia, Mr. Viktor B. Khristenko; the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Russia, Mr. Vladimir E. Churov; the General Director of Russian Nuclear Energy Company, “Rosatom”, Mr. Sergei V. Kirenko; numerous Ambassadors from various nations; as well as Religious, Business and Cultural leaders from throughout Moscow.
During the course of the Reception, Archimandrite Zacchaeus had the opportunity to once again thank Mr. Burns for his constant support of the initiatives of St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church during his time as US Ambassador to Russia.
