Mr. Robert Hannan, Jr., the First Secretary and Consul made his first visit to St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church and the Representation of the Orthodox Church in America to the Moscow Patriarchate on Tuesday, May 18, 2004. Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Dean of the church had the opportunity to welcome Mr. Hannan and share with him information about the life and activities of Representation. Father Zacchaeus and Mr. Hannan discussed the possibility of making St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church a possible location for casting ballots in the upcoming US Federal Elections. This would aid the American Citizen Services Unit (CONS/ACS) of the American Embassy in Moscow. Among the other topics discussed was the possibility of making St. Catherine's Church better known to the Americans residing in Moscow and allowing them to more better acquainted with Orthodox Christianity through the parish's English language theological books available for sale in the bookstore or to be borrowed from the parish's extensive library.
A documentary video about the parish and an informational booklet were presented to Mr. Hannan at the conclusion of his visit.
