News | 13-09-07 Frescoes completed in part of St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church

On Thursday, September 13, 2007, Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Dean of St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church together with parish warden, Sergei Alikov inspected the work on the frescoes in the ceiling of the trapeznaya portion of the temple and accepted the proposal by the renovation artists that indeed the work can be considered completed.

Among the six prophets painted in the ceiling are Moses, Daniel, Hezekiah, Micah, Isaiah, and Elias. In addition there is ornamental decoration and crosses painted around the ceiling with images of angels in the center.

The renovation of the frescoes will continue on the walls and should be completed by the end of the month.
