News | 07-01-07 Great Vespers for the Nativity of Christ served at Christ the Savior Cathedral

On Sunday evening, January 7, 2006 , the Great Feast of the Nativity of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Moscow Patriarchate concelebrated the festal Great Vespers with His Holiness, Patriarch ALEKSY II of Moscow and All Russia.

Also concelebrating the Patriarchal Great Vespers were His Eminence, Metropolitan JUVENALY of Krutitsk and Kolomna, Archbishops ARSENY of Istra and EVGENY of Vereia, other hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church, and the Moscow Representatives of the Churches of Alexandria, Antioch , Jerusalem , Serbia , Czech lands and Slovakia , and America .

Following the Great Vespers service, Metropolitan JUVENALY congratulated His Holiness, Patriarch ALEKSY with the feast of the Nativity of Christ on behalf of the Holy Synod, hierarchs, clergy, monastics and faithful of the Russian Orthodox Church as well as the Moscow Representatives of the other Local Orthodox Churches.
