On Thursday, May 20, 2010, His Grace, Bishop SERAPHIM (Sigrist), formerly of Sendai, and now retired hierarch of the Orthodox Church in America visited St Catherine the Great Martyr Church – the Moscow Representation of the Orthodox Church in America(OCA) where he met with the parish Dean and OCA Representative to the Moscow Patriarchate, Archimandrite Zacchaeus.
During the course of the meeting, Bishop SERAPHIM and Archimandrite Zacchaeus had the opportunity to speak on a wide range of topics including the recent joyous consecration of Bishop MICHAEL (Dahulich) to be Bishop of New York and New Jersey of the Orthodox Church in America as well as the upcoming historic First Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Hierarchs in North and Central America from May 26-28,2010 in New York and other issues relating to the Orthodox Church in America and Orthodox Unity on the American continent.
In bidding the hierarch farewell, Archimandrite Zacchaeus thanked him for the time taken to make the visit and extended a very sincere invitation to celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the parish during his next trip to Moscow which is expected in September of this year.
