News | 08-12-09 His Beatitude Metropolitan JONAH of All America and Canada visits the Sofrino Factory of the Russian Orthodox Church

On Tuesday morning, December 8, 2009, His Beatitude, Metropolitan JONAH of All America and Canada, together with Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Moscow Representative of the Orthodox Church in America and Novice Gregory (Stevens), the cell attendant of the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America visited the Sofrino Church Goods Factory of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Upon arrival, the Metropolitan of the Orthodox Church in America was greeted by the Factory’s Director, Mr. Evgeny A. Parkhaev who offered a very thorough tour of the factory where His Beatitude was able to become better acquainted with the work that is accomplished in producing church liturgical items at the Sofrino factory. Likewise, the Metropolitan and other guests were led to the Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov on the territory of the factory which serves as the spiritual center for all the employees laboring at Sofrino.

Also during the course of the visit, His Beatitude Metropolitan JONAH was treated to a lunch held in his honor at the factory director’s official dining hall.
