News | 20-04-11 Holy Wednesday at St Catherine the Great Martyr Church

On Tuesday, April 19, 2011, Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Dean, together with Priest Ioann Kechkin and Deacon Gleb Kraezhevskykh concelebrated the Matins for Great and Holy Wednesday at St Catherine the Great Martyr Church. During the course of the service, two of the American parishioners sang “Thy Bridal Chamber…” and the “Hymn of Kassiani” in English. These hymns can be found on YouTube here. 

On Great and Holy Wednesday morning, April 20, 2011, Archimandrite Zacchaeus led the celebration of the final Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts for the year at the parish with the other clergy concelebrating with him. At the conclusion of the service, Father Zacchaeus read the prayer of St Ephraim the Syrian for the last time, according to the Church Typikon. Afterwards, Deacon Dmitry Asratyan preached a sermon to the faithful.
