As anxiously awaited, the Holy Fire was brought to St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church on Sunday, April 11, 2004 - the Feast of Feasts, the Bright Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ - Holy Pascha. The Holy Fire was brought to the parish by representatives of the Foundation of St. Andrew the First Called and was eagerly received by parish Dean, Archimandrite Zacchaeus, and the parish clergy and laity and numerous guests.
Approximately 500 people participated in the Paschal Procession and nearly 350 faithful prayed inside the church for the Paschal Matins, Hours and Divine Liturgy. Among those in attendance were Abbess Inez, visiting from Guatemala, the Ambassador of Ethiopia to the Russian Federation, Mr. Asaminei Bedanie and Deputy Chief of Mission of the United States Embassy in Moscow, Mr. John Beyrle.
