Interim Director of the US Agency for International Development visits St Catherine the Great Martyr Church
On Thursday, June 24, 2010, Mr. Terry Myers, the Interim Director for the US Agency for International Development (USAID) of the American Embassy in Moscow visited St Catherine the Great Martyr Church – the Moscow Representation of the Orthodox Church in America where he met with the parish Dean, Archimandrite Zacchaeus.
During the course of the visit, Mr. Myers shared with Father Zacchaeus the work of USAID in Russia, especially in the field of HIV/AIDS awareness programs. It was suggested that once again in 2010, as in previous years, the Moscow Representation of the Orthodox Church in America sponsor an informational program on World AIDS Awareness Day, December 1, working closely with the USAID office of the US Embassy in Moscow. In addition to this, many other subjects of mutual interest were discussed.
