On Thursday, October 21, 2010, Mr Vasily Tomachinsky, reporter for the Orthodox Internet Web Portal Pravoslavie.ru arrived at St Catherine the Great Martyr Church to make an interview with Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Moscow Representative of the Orthodox Church in America on his relationship with the newly departed Bishop Tikhon of Archangelsk and Kholmogory.
Bishop Tikhon and Archimandrite Zacchaeus studied together at St Vladimir Orthodox Theological Seminary in the 1990’s where their friendship which lasted until today began. Father Zacchaeus in the interview speaks about the time together in seminary as well as reciprocal visits to Petrozavodsk where then Igumen Tikhon served and also Chicago where then Hierodeacon Zacchaeus served.
The interview will appear on Pravoslavie.ru on Friday, October 22, 2010 the day before the funeral service of the newly departed Bishop Tikhon. A pictorial tribute to the hierarch can be found on our site.
